Juhan Sonin

Director

Juhan specializes in software design and system engineering. He operates, and is the Director of, Involution Studios. He has worked at Apple, National Center for Supercomputing Applications, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and MITRE. Juhan co-founded Invo Boston in 2009 and is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He currently lectures at MIT.

Eric Benoit

Creative Director

Eric is a designer specializing in system design and software application, leading our creationary process in UI design and pushing concepts into production. Eric joined Invo in 2010 and is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University. Eric enjoys tinkering with Arduino controllers and taking random ‘make’ classes at the Artisan’s Asylum; from electronic synthesizers to laser cutting.

Jennifer Patel

Designer, Engineer

Jennifer is a designer-developer hybrid specializing in user interface design and front-end development. She creates beautiful designs using big and small data, often for health and enterprise services. Jennifer joined Invo in 2011 and is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Product Designer

Beth is part designer, product strategist, and researcher. She concentrates on designing beautiful and surprising services and systems from the skintop to celltop to desktop. Beth is a graduate of Rice University and Carnegie Mellon University.

Edwin Choi

Designer

Edwin is a biologist turned designer. Combining the sciences and art, he orchestrates healthcare software experiences to be beautiful and clinically refined. Edwin joined Invo in 2015, is a graduate of Washington University, and has a masters in biomedical design from Johns Hopkins University.

Michael Bester

Engineer

Michael is a design-savvy software developer focussed on building humane user interfaces for screens of all shapes and sizes. Having worked with companies as diverse as Novartis, Warner Music and Playboy, he has been crafting code with Invo since 2011. A graduate of the University of Miami Frost School of Music, Michael is also a guitarist who enjoys playing jazz, rock and more recently, classical repertoire.

Yanyang Zhou

Engineer

Yanyang is a designer specializing in UI engineering and human-computer interaction (HCI). She crafts carefully constructed visualization and software prototypes using the latest frameworks. Yanyang joined Invo in 2015. She has a software engineering undergraduate degree from Dalian University in Dalian, China and a graduate HCI degree from University of Pittsburg.

Business Catalyst

Jonathan is an executive who previously ran his own design studio. He is the director of business development for Involution Studios. Jonathan joined Invo in 2009 and is a graduate of Boston University.

Emily Twaddell

Doyenne de l'Atelier

Emily is a mentor and leader specializing in instructional design. Since joining Invo in 2013 as studio manager, Emily manages daily operations, writes for the blog, consults on design, and creates whimsical art installations. Emily holds degrees from Trinity College, Lesley University, and The Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University.

Craig McGinley

Engineer

Craig is an engineer devoted to full stack design and development. He brings skillful javascripting, front-end development techniques, and application logic design to software projects. Craig is a Launch Academy graduate, vegan, musician and social justice advocate.

Brian Liston

Designer

Brian is a designer and visual artist with a background in graphic design, film and art history. He specializes in time-based media design and strives to create beautiful things in every medium available to him. Brian is a graduate of Columbus College of Art & Design.

Lily Fan

Intern

Lily is an Industrial Design student at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). Lily is interested in the collision of the physical, emotional, and digital. She is advancing her software design chops during the winter semester.

Dirk Knemeyer

Dirk is a social futurist and a founder of Involution Studios. He envisions new systems for organizational, social, and personal change, helping leaders to make radical transformation. Dirk is a frequent speaker who has shared his ideas at TEDx, Transhumanism+ and SXSW along with keynotes in Europe and the US. He has been published in Business Week and participated on the 15 boards spanning industries like healthcare, publishing, and education.
